North School Winter Family Fun Fest February 12, 2011
Official greeter for the event
The Warming Hut, festival headquarters.
Ice rink conditions were ideal for the occassion.
NSPS Volunteers Chip Woods and Cindy Tufts engaged in a friendly chat
Cheryl the Clown showed up to entertain the kids, thanks to long time North School volunteer Andrea Cook securing her appearance. (For those not entirely sure, the clown is the one on the right.)
Hill conditions for sledding were also ideal, with contests to see who could continue the furthest distance at the bottom.
Some adults who hadn't gone sledding since they were kids felt adventurous enough to give it
another try, thanks to Bill Bushaw who thought to bring a few adult size plastic sleds with him.
First time snowshoer Harold Turner ended up doing better
than our snowshoeing instructor-guide Andrea Cook (seated).
Even plain plowed snowbanks seemed fun to some, especially with a clown around.
Queen of the grill Virginia (Jewell) Ricker was kept busy the whole
lunch hour keeping up with the demand for freshly grilled hot dogs.
Inside the cozy warm warming hut where there was plenty to eat and drink.
